Scarcity + Abundance was the Fall 2013 production created by and with Dance Ensemble/ACTivate at Grinnell College as part of the national, TOO BIG project.

"My involvment with the TOO BIG project began in October 2012, when my colleague at Grinnell College forwarded me an email from Lisa Brenner at Drew University about the project she was hoping to initiate.  In an intitial conversation with Lisa she talked about using this project as a way to interrogate concepts and stimulate dialoge about the economy.

...A headache ensued.

I don't like thinking about Economics, of the topic "The Economy".  It makes me feel overhwhelmed, powerless, and well, downright depressed.

Economics/the economy as a muse? As a source for creativity and inspiration? "No!", my muse cried, "I need stories! Rich visual imagery! Run!" But since my response was so visceral, I decided to plunge instead of run.  In the Fall of 2013, I worked with Dance Ensemble/ACTivate to create a devised performance, "Scarcity + Abundance" to test the waters of creating for TOO BIG."
