In this moment of audience interactivity, the audience was asked to shout out a number from 1-20.  The first number we heard was the number we chose.  Each number corresponded to one of the twenty questions.  The audience was invited to discuss their response to the question with their neighbor.  After several minutes, Celeste asked to hear a few responses.  From those responses Celeste and the Ensemble constructed a short movement phrase that could be performed by the audience in their seats.   Tool: Build-A-Phrase

7th Inning Stretch

"One aspect that was particularly engaging and enjoyable was the '7th Inning Stretch', during which the audience was able to participate with the dancers as well as get a glimpse into the process of how this group composes pieces.  A dance ensemble member posed, 'Is "just be yourself" good advice?' With the audience responses, the ensemble, along with director Celeste Miller created movements to go along with some responses.  In the end, the ensemble along with the audience had created a unique and interesting composition that was performed together, bridging the gap between audience and performer, expert and layperson.  This exercise was unlike anything I had ever experienced and was one of the highlights of the show." - Chloe Yates, Audience

"The end result of this exercise was that the audience felt in tune, no pun intended, with the dancers on stage." - Gabe Lehman, Audience
