"Performed in Grinnell’s black box Flanagan Theatre, pasted newspaper clippings, posters, images, and quotes lined the black walls, as well as an interactive audience questionnaire completed on post-it notes. This backdrop created a visually stimulating reminder of the context of the piece against the solid color clad of dancers." - Ivy Kuhn, Student

Performance Environment

Installation of the back wall

The Flanagan Theatre is a flexible black box space.  Seating was arranged so that the audience entered through the upstage area of the performance space.  There is an entryway hall/ramp that leads into the theatre.  Ten of the twenty "Too Big" questions were posted on the walls of the entry.

The back wall of the performance space contained a collage assembly created out of visuals around the themes of "the economy" and key words from our workshops, flanked by the remaining ten questions.
